Lionel Brockman Richie, Jr. (born June 20, 1949) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer who has sold more than 100 million records.

Mikhail Nikolaevich Baryshnikov (Russian: Михаил Николаевич Барышников) (born January 28, 1948) is a Soviet-born Russian American dancer, choreographer, and actor, often cited alongside Vaslav Nijinsky and Rudolf Nureyev as one of the greatest ballet dancers of the 20th century. Gregory Oliver Hines (February 14, 1946 – August 9, 2003) was an American actor, singer, dancer and choreographer.

White Nights is a 1985 film starring Mikhail Baryshnikov, Gregory Hines, Jerzy Skolimowski, Helen Mirren and Isabella Rossellini. It also contains an early-career performance by Maryam d'Abo. Directed by Taylor Hackford, it was shot in Finland, England, Scotland, Portugal, and the Soviet Union.

The film is notable both for the dancing of Hines and Baryshnikov and for the Academy Award winning song "Say You, Say Me" by Lionel Richie, as well as "Separate Lives" performed by Phil Collins and Marilyn Martin and written by Stephen Bishop (also nominated).

Ella Jane Fitzgerald (April 25, 1917 – June 15, 1996), also known as the "First Lady of Song" and "Lady Ella," was an American jazz vocalist. With a vocal range spanning three octaves, she was noted for her purity of tone, impeccable diction, phrasing and intonation, and a "horn-like" improvisational ability, particularly in her scat singing.

Eurovision 1965 winner - France Gall - Poupée de cire, poupée de son - Luxembourg

  Gall was selected to represent Luxembourg for the 1965 Eurovision Song Contest.

Out of the 10 songs proposed to her, she chose Gainsbourg's "Poupée de cire, poupée de son."

On 20 March 1965, Gainsbourg, Gall, and Goraguer attended the finals of the song contest in Naples , where the song was booed during rehearsals.

Although Gall's delivery during the live show was not of the highest standard, the song impressed the jury and it took the Grand Prix.

Success at Eurovision ensured that Gall became even more known outside Europe and she recorded "Poupée de cire, poupée de son" in French, German, Italian and Japanese. There appears to be no English version released by France Gall herself, although there was an English cover by the English 60s star Twinkle.

Marie Myriam (born Miriam Lopes, May 8, 1957, Braga, Portugal) is a Portuguese / French singer.

In 1981, Marie Myriam also represented France in the Yamaha Music Festival with the song "Sentimentale"; she came in ninth place. In recent years, she has read out the votes of the French Jury at the Eurovision Song Contest.
