Friends,

Wanna know how I spent my Friday the 13?  A tinny nice reunion of Michel, A-Mao Jacqueline and me happened in our area.  A-Mao arrived at San Francisco around 11:30; Michel picked her up;  we had dim-sum in a nice restaurent for lunch.  Jacqueline's husband and her 14-year old son joined us.  So many things we wanted to share but could not stay in this dim sum place forever.  So we moved to a nearby a famous Chinese pearl milk tea cafe  - Fantasia to continue our conversation.   Well, still not enough time to chat even though we talked as fast as we could (believe me) since Michel and I wanted to show A-Mao around in SF.  That was around 3:30 and we had to start going.  Too bad that Jacqueline could not join us due to back pain problem.

The weather was not good and actually cold, it was rainning on and off all day long.  It was  pouring hard at one point while we were driving.  But did we care?  No!  What is that Chinese saying?  "Having friends visiting us coming from far away, how happier we can be?" (except winning lottery :-))  Michel was so kind to drive around as many places as he could in these few hours including Golden Gate Bridge.  We had dinner in Fisherman's Wharf, had some crab and seafood.  A-Mao shared her precious life stories about her study years in France.  She gave A LOT OF CREDITS to a few dear 78 classmates at the time living in France who helped her in many ways going through the rough time especially Hubert and Julien.   I was very touched and inspired when listening to her experiences.  Dear Hubert and Julien, I hope you are reading this.  You are greats people, great friends who gave your hands to another friend at the time of need. Salute to you!!!

Finally, Michel and I have to say this A-Mao: "you are one hell of courageous girl who made a gutty decision most people wouldn't be able to make - just land yourself in a foreign country with "not ready" language skill to start everything from ground zero"   So proud of you for the strength of going through a period of life bitter and sweet, now looking back, and says: Hey, I don't regret.  Look these colorful strokes I made in life!  Aren't they beautiful?

I believe every single one of us has something in life can be somebody's else's inspiration.  Share with us?

Some pictures of this gathering.  Enjoy!

Gisele/Jolyn
