The world first floating island in Southern Korea.
“Soul Flora,” floating islands that are planned to be constructed at the southern end of Banpo Bridge, will give citizens a rich waterside culture.
As a core part of a Renaissance project of the Han River, Soul Flora will be opened around April 2010, and visitors will be able to enjoy different themes on these three islands.
The first and biggest island is to be a multi-purpose cultural complex that will have a convention hall, retail shops and restaurants. It will be an ideal place for international exhibitions and conferences.
For young and hip people, the second island will be the place to go. Here people will be able to enjoy food, arts and other cultural products. The last island will be for active sport fanatics, who will be able to engage in different kinds of marine sport activities, including yacht lessons.
At nights, LED clusters surrounding the outer shell of the islands will shine beautifully and be like the gleam of a lantern in the fog.
